Meet Our Team

Rhiannon Shook

Director

Born and raised in Montana, Rhiannon Shook planted roots in Bozeman 21 years ago. The birth of her first two children inspired Rhiannon to pursue a career in childcare. After a few years working on her undergraduate degree in early childhood education, Rhiannon opened up an in-home childcare. During this time, she balanced work, family, and working through her degree. Rhiannon ran her in-home childcare program, serving up to 16 children, for 14 years.

Rhiannon volunteers her time as president of the Bozeman Association for the Education of Young Children, a chapter of Montana Association for the Education of Young Children. Rhiannon is the mother of four children, and loves spending her free time with family and close friends. You can find her outside doing anything from hiking, biking, skiing, rafting, fishing, camping and gardening. Rhiannon enjoys live music, making jam, and being creative in all kinds of art mediums.

Rhiannon’s credentials include: B.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Montana Western; M.ED in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Montana; Early Childhood Trainer—Professional Development Specialist Level III; and, Level 9 on Montana Early Childhood Practitioner Registry.

Sara Frye

Lead Childcare Specialist

Sara Frye was born and raised in Washington, and credits her access to high quality education for her passion for working with children. At 13, she began caring for kids as an after school job where she realized this education was an opportunity to help other kids—even of different socioeconomic backgrounds—receive quality education. This motivated Sara to double major in Special Education and Elementary Education at Central Washington University. After graduating, Sara spent five years teaching children with disabilities—including autism, developmental delays, ADHD, and other emotional behavioral disorders—at low-income schools in Yakima, Washington. During this time, she observed the myriad of different lifestyles and teaching methods. Sara made it her goal to ensure all children under her care received the same, high quality care and education, regardless of outside factors.

Sara relocated to Montana in 2019 to work at XY Learning Center. Working with children at the center daily, Sara excels at building respect and trust with each child. She enjoys working with children of all ages, and spends much of her free time reading studies and books, learning different techniques and methods that have been used over time to teach and guide children. She exudes love to all around her. She is often accompanied by her loving shih tzu, Enzo, who is adored by all the children.

Sara's credentials include a B.A. in Special Education, and a B.A. in Elementary Education from Central Washington University.
